Frima announces the release of the first Quebec video game to be simultaneously marketed on Oculus Rift and HTC Vive platforms

Québec, Canada – April 28, 2016 – Frima, a leader in digital entertainment, announced today that its virtual reality game, FATED: The Silent Oath, is available on Oculus Rift and HTC VIVE. During this mythical odyssey written by Jill Murray, author for Assassin’s Creed, the player is transported to the Ragnarok era – the end of the Vikings’ world, in an adventure where he must save his family from world destruction by Nordic gods.

This new Frima intellectual property is the first Quebec game to be launched simultaneously on Oculus Rift and HTC Vive platforms.

“Representing Quebec on the global market by launching one of the first virtual reality games on this new platform generation makes us tremendously proud. With an unprecedented level of immersion, the possibilities offered by this technology in terms of innovation are incredible. All of this combined with the creative genius of our artists positions Frima as pioneer in the development of narrative games in virtual reality,” said Christian Daigle, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Frima.

With extensive experience in virtual reality, the Quebec studio whose achievements include View-Master: Space from Mattel as well as La bibliothèque, la nuit, an exhibition from Ex Machina/Robert Lepage and Alberto Manguel puts the emotion at the heart of the experience and inevitably leads the player to create an emotional connection with the history and its characters.

“The combination of complex emotions and parent-child relationship has allowed us to create a highly emotional story,” explains Vincent Martel, Executive Producer at Frima Studio. “In FATED, the parental relationship and protective instinct are the basis of a trying and contemplative journey,” said Mr. Martel.

The first generation virtual reality game is available now for $19.99 on Oculus Rift and HTC Vive platforms, and soon on PlayStation VR.

In its first major public presentation at PAX East last weekend (April 22-24th), players were treated to an immersive VR ‘simulation experience’, complete with wind and drizzle, vibrating seats, and reins, for enhanced realism.
